2025 Airing of the Quilts

Our annual Airing of the Quilts event is coming up on the 22nd and 23rd of November. Forms can be completed and emailed to us by 24th October 2025.

Braidwood Airing of the Quilts festival is held each year on the 4th weekend in November.

It comprises an Indoor Quilt Exhibition and an Outdoor Hanging of the Quilts. The Outdoor Quilts are hung each morning and taken in at night, in inclement weather they can be displayed in the Church in the main Street. The festival relies on the generosity of Quilters to enter their quilts for both the Indoor Exhibition and Outdoor Hanging.

The Indoor Exhibition categories are:

1. Quilt by a Child (11 years of age & under)
2. Quilt by a Youth (Age 12-18)
3. Traditional Quilt
4. Applique Quilt
5. Modern Quilt
6. Wall Hanging (No larger than 120cm x 150cm)
7. Textile Art

This is a judged exhibition and prizes (1st & 2nd) are awarded in each category.
Also prizes for :

• Best Hand Quilted Quilt
• Best Machine Quilted by the Exhibitor
• Best Use of Colour
• Viewers Choice Award
• Best In Show
• Best Outdoor Hanging

Delivery areas and pick-up points outside Braidwood will be advised shortly. Quilts can also be delivered to Braidwood Quilt Store.
